PERIMETER

PERIMETER

PERIMETER IS THE DISTANCE COVERD ALONG THE BOUNDRYOF A POLYGON

PERIMETER OF A SQUARE

A SQUARE HAS 4 SIDES. THEREFOUR, TO FIND ITS PERIMETER MULTIPLY THE SIDE (S)BY 4

P= SIDE + SIDE + SIDE + SIDE

P= 4 X SIDE = 4S

EACH SIDE OF A BOX =50 CM

SO THE PERIMETER IS = 50 CM + 50 CM + 50 CM + 50 CM

= 4X50 CM = 200 CM

PERIMETER OF A RECTRIANGLE

THE OPPOSITE SIDES OF A RECTRIANGLE ARE EQUALE. THEREFORE TO FIND THE FORMULA.

P= LENGHT +BREADTH + LENGHT + BREADTH

P= 2 X LENGHT + 2 X BREADTH

= 2 (L+B)

THE LENGHT OF THE RECTANGLE

THE BREADTH OF THE RECTANGLE

SO THE PERIMETER = 2 (6CM + 2CM)

= 2 (8CM)

= 16 CM
